Dan's Teachings
My beliefs and teachings can be boiled down to a simple few:
- We live in a Multiverse which consists of an infinite number of parallel universes, each of which is a holomovement.
- Everything in the Multiverse is energy. There is nothing but energy.
- Energy is a single phenomenon. There are various frequencies of vibration of energy, but these variations do not change the essence of energy.
- Therefore, there is only one of us here.
In the rest of this page, I amplify each of these tenets in my thought system.
The Nature and Origins of the Multiverse
My cosmology consists of a belief that the Universe that occupies our attention in this time-space continuum is but one of an infinite number of parallel universes. I believe that Fred Alan Wolf, in his seminal work, Parallel Universes, makes a convincing case for the existence of multiple universes. A number of articles in Scientific American in the past couple of years have confirmed the underlying mathematical theories and astronomical assumptions. More recently a brilliant Japanese mathematician named Michio Kaku has written insightfully on the subject, perhaps most notably in his work Hyperspace. I came to my conviction that each Universe in the Multiverse must be holographic in nature by two separate paths or processes. First, my understanding that everything that is consists of energy and that energy is an essence rather than a collection of various essences or manifestations led me inevitably to the conclusion that everything is the same basic substance. That is a working definition of a hologram and perhaps even anticipates the nature and existence of holograms. I also read Michael Talbot's brilliant book, The Holographic Universe some years ago and was taken by the staggering array of otherwise difficult or impossible to understand or explain phenomena make eminent sense when the notion of a holographic universe is applied to them. In Talbot's book and in other reading I've done, the concept of the hologram is extended to account for dynamic holographic objects, which are dubbed, logically enough, holomovements. Clearly, while holographic images are generally similar to photographic snapshots, the Multiverse and its infinite number of universes must be dynamic. So I consider that each of the universes is a holo movement.
Everything is Energy
This point is hardly beyond debate. Albert Einstein proved many decades ago that energy and matter are equivalent. The amount of energy (E) contained in any object with mass (m) can be calculated by multiplying m by the speed of light (c) squared. This means, among other things, that the amount of energy locked up in the molecules that comprise the human body is unbelievably, almost incalculably, large, larger even that that unleashed in a typical nuclear explosion.
Since all matter (mass) contains energy and since anything that doesn't appear to us to be matter is also energy, it follows that all we have in the Multiverse is energy.
All Energy is Vibration
This aspect of my belief system and teaching is perhaps a bit more difficult to see than the previous one. But it is essential to my system of thought, so let me explain how I arrived at this conclusion.
Matter can be viewed and understood as energy vibrating at a frequency that makes it detectable by our limited physical senses. We know that not all vibrational frequencies can be sensed. X-Rays, cosmic rays, certain ranges of sound and other such frequencies of vibrational energy are detected, in the main, not directly but rather indirectly, from the sensible impact they have on other objects such as X-Ray film, a cloud chamber or an animal with different sensory parameters from us.
We know that what appears to us to be solid matter -- the table on which my laptop computer rests as I write this essay, for example -- is really mostly empty space. When I say "mostly" I mean overwhelmingly; well over 90% of the "content" of this table is the space between the wave-particles that comprise the basic building blocks of everything. There was a time in the not-so-distant past when we believed that these particles, at least, were solid in some meaningful sense of that word but we know now, thanks to the discoveries of quantum (as contrasted to traditional Newtonian) physics, that even the basic building blocks are waves of energy and information (which is energy that can be translated into data or meaning).
Ultimately, all energy -- whether it takes the form of light or sound or a wave-particle such as a quark or a meson or a proton -- is vibrational. Nothing stands still. A seemingly stoic and immobile block of granite is, when viewed at its deepest structural level, a constant blur of motion and vibraation. Now, vibration is a fairly simple phenomenon to understand. It consists of the fluctuation -- regular or irregular -- of an energy level around some mid-point or axis. Vibration is vibration is vibration. Which is to say, energy is energy is energy.
This is over-simplified and this topic is one on which I will produce, over time, more in-depth papers and works, but the essence is here. There is only one form of "stuff" of which the infinite number of universes comprising the Multiverse are made: energy, which is to say, vibration.
It is interesting, by the way, to note that several Eastern mystical/metaphysical traditions offer cosmologies that are based on the notion that all creation is set into motion by vibratory energies. I am presently engaged in a deep study of the work of the famed Indian cosmologist, Sri Aurobindo, under the able tutelage of Dr. Eric Weiss of the California institute of Integrated Studies on this very topic.
There is Only One of Us Here
The climax of my beliefs and teachings comes in the simple statement at
the head of this section. I tell my students "There is only one of us here" so
often that one of them gave me a nifty Polo t-shirt with that slogan embroidered
on it.
I draw this conclusion from a number of disparate sources, all of which seem to me to be teaching this core spiritual truth.
First, there is the idea, as presented in the preceding section, that everything in the Multiverse consists of vibrational energy. This means that at a bedrock level, everything is made up of the same essence. This is decidedly not to suggest that everything is the same. A planet is not a human being is not a sunbeam is not a tree is not a block of granite. But it is to say that the differences among these seemingly disparate things are a result of differing rates or frequencies of vibration and of nothing else that can be taken as essential to the nature of things.
Second, many Eastern spiritual traditions teach that there is but one
Mind or Divine Intelligence in the Universe (a concept I extend to the
Multiverse). My intuition -- which I have only in the past 10 years or
so come to trust implicitly -- tells me this viewpoint is necessarily
correct. There is, in other words, an Uncaused First Cause, and that First
Cause is vibrational energy, with which all of "this" (whatever "this" we
mean) started. At one point in my spiritual quest, I sought for the source
of the intelligence I saw in matter. I now understand that intelligence
is inherent in energy, that energy itself is intelligent, and that it is not necessary to posit an outside intelligence to explain how things work.
Third, A Course in Miracles, which is one of my primary spiritual disciplines at this juncture of my spiritual walk, clearly teaches the essential oneness of all. There is, it tells us, no true separation between you and me, between either of us and God, or between all of us and Divine Mind. In fact, the mistaken belief in that separation is the only mistake we have made and it is one which we constantly seek to correct as we attempt to return to an understanding of our true essences as Pure Positive Energy.
I need to and will say much more on this topic as time goes on, but for now this serves at least as a capsule of my basic belief system that forms the foundation of what I teach in the Fellowship of One Mind.
More on Vibration and the Universal Law of Attraction
Everything vibrates. We live in a multiverse that is in constant vibration.
Vibrations can be mapped and visualized as waveform patterns. Each molecule
and indeed each form of energy (including thought) in the multiverse vibrates
with a very specific waveform pattern which can, given proper instrumentation,
be displayed graphically.
When two waveforms -- or energy sources -- encounter each other, they can
either amplify one another or neutralize one another, either entirely or
in part. If, e.g., a pure sine wave is exposed to another pure sine wave,
the power (amplitude) of the combined wave will be roughly double if the
peaks and troughs of the waveform align or nearly zero if the peaks of one
wave line up with the troughs of the other.
You can see this effect when you toss multiple pebbles into a pond serially
(one after the other). The size of the ripples will be affected as each
pebble is added to the mix, assuming they are all added in the same place
with similar force.
This combination of facts explains and illustrates graphically how the
universal Law of Attraction taught for several decades by Abraham through
Esther and Jerry HIcks and recently popularized by the movie "The Secret" and
its subsequent exposure on "Oprah" actually works.
If you project a thought energy into the multiverse containing or depicting
something you desire and at the same time you emit a thought energy that
doubts the ability of the multiverse to fulfill that desire, you are in
effect canceling out some or all of the effect of the first thought waveform
with the energy vibrations of the second. Keeping yourself tuned in to the
frequency of joy and bliss and allowing (i.e., not resisting) the flow from
the multiverse to you in response to your thought energies is the key to
opening yourself up to the working of the Law of Attraction.
